Hello and welcome back to another blog post! I hope you’re all keeping safe and well during this isolation. I’ve seen these types of blog posts going around recently and decided I’d share my own.
This July I am going to be turning 21 so thought I’d share little things I’ve learnt in my 20 years so far...
Tea is life
Yes a cuppa is the answer to everything!! Sad? Have tea. Happy? Have tea. Tired? Have tea. Angry? Vep, tea!!
It’s ok to say no to people
This one I’m still learning. But yes it’s ok to say no. It’s ok to not talk to people you don’t want to. It’s ok if you decide to stay at home that day. It’s ok if you don’t vibe with someone’s energy.
You can never have just two biscuits
I mean this might just be me.. but if you give me a biscuit, you may aswell just give me the whole packet.!!
You can never own too many mugs
Maybe this is a personal one for me.. but no you can never own too many mugs.
School is not the be all and end all
This is something I wished I known at school. School is spent with too much stress and worry about the future. School is not everything!!! Most people, who have left school for years, still don’t know what ‘they want to do when they grow up’. Don’t stress it.
Losing friendships/ relationships aren’t always a bad thing
Losing people can only allow you to grow and I’m a stronger believer that people come in and out of you life for different reasons.
Driving can be sooooo boring
Yep, having been driving for 3 years. I can infact say driving is sooo boring.
It’s ok not to have everything in life figured out
Again not everyone has their life figure out and that’s okay. It’s okay to just go with the flow.
My mum is literally always right
Yes my mum is always right it’s sometimes infuriating bless her. But I never doubt her advice.
Baths are the best
Can’t argue with this right, your favourite bath scents, a Lush bathbomb, a largeeeee glass of rosè and chill music on in the background. Best setting if you ask me.
Not every situation needs a reaction
Think this one kinda speaks for itself tbh. Growing up I’ve realised that not everything needs a reaction, reacting in some situations sometimes doesn’t help so can be best to just not react.
Prioritise your mental health
YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS MKRE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR JOB, YOUR SCHOOL/UNI WORK!! Make your mental health a priority, is so easy to just keep going when you feel run down in life because it’s the norm. No no, you take a break.
Don’t save things for ‘best’
My mum alwaysss says this to me. Don’t save your favourite outfit for ‘best’ or your favourite perfume or anything! Wear things when you want to, even if it is just down to your local ASDA hahaha.
Simultaneous equations suck
Just going to leave this one here...
Eagle owls are massive
Urm so for my mums 50th we went on an owl experience (they’re her fav animal) and eagle owls are infact larger than I thought, abit scary tbh.
Curling hair with straighteners isn’t as hard as I thought it would be
Shout out to 2020 for being the year I finally learnt to curl my hair with straighteners!! Honestly, just keep practicing! You’ll get there.
How making the most of a weekend includes snacks, comfy clothes and movies
Ngl my favourite weekends are the chilled ones at home, give me a glass of wine, snacks and movies and I’ll be all set.
Everything happens for a reason
Clichè but is true. Everything really does happen for a reason. Believe the process.
Primary school was the best
No responsibilities? Got to play all day, with no stress. I’ll take that.
Going to the seaside in the rain, in the UK is normal
Think most of the times I’ve been to the seaside in the UK it has rained hahah. Is just the norm, but no matter the weather we’ll still be at the beach on holiday!
What’s some things you’ve learnt in your ... years?
Love Abbie x
